I have a customer with a Cummins 2100 series Generator and ATS. There is also an Echelon iLon100e3 that is supposed to monitor the genset and send e-mail alerts if something happens. It runs on a multipoint lonworks connection. It's a two wire connection in a daisy chain.
What I've done so far is; Commision the Generator first by holding the service pin down for 2 secs, then do the same to the ATS. At this point the ATS and the generator talk and work as expected during a power failure or no-load test (test button on ATS).
Now if I run lonmaker and open the 2100 series template It goes through finding/commisioning the devices it sees. Now the e-mail notifications work, I can control the generator through a web interface and see errors on the ATS or generator.
Now, however, the ATS and generator don't seem to be associated with each other. A power failure or no load test causes the ATS to count down for motor start and the motor does not start as it should. At this point I have to reset the generator and ATS and start over. I left it with the ATS and generator talking and associated with one another so the unit works, I just don't get e-mail notifications.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of setup? I think what I may need to do is reset the ATS and the generator and then run lonmaker to let it do it's thing without me manually commisioning the Generator then ATS.
