Peachtree premium 2005 error in terminal sever 2008 install

Hi all,

My company is helping out a local school that's had to close by hosting it's peachtree accoutning software on our servers - with the intent that we give terminal server access to the software to the few people that still need it for the next few months.  I installed the software through the control panel, logged in as admin.  It runs perfectly for the admin user, but gives the following error anytime anyone else tries to run it:
"Peachtree could not detect the status of the peachtree.ini file".

i googled around, and it seems there's some registry entries that were advised to add to mess with the compatability checks, but those registry entries were for a 2003 server, not a 64 bit 2008 - so i'm hesiitant to do them.  Link to what i'm talking about here:

For reference - software = peachtree premium 2005 accounting.  Server = windows server 2008 64 bit with terminal services enabled and users coming from AD.

Anyone have any ideas?  please help!

Thanks!

Had little desire to research or play in the registry to find the correct registry changes to make in server 2008 vs the 2003.

I had the same problem in a similar situation. I found that in C:\Users\administrator\WINDOWS is the .ini file that you need. For Peach Tree 2005 for example the file is named PCW120.ini . If you copy this file into the Windows folder for your other users, in my experience this will fix the problem.
