JomSocial

How can a single Joomla / JomSocial administrator (marketing clerk) handle the publishing of posts/articles on behalf of the other staff members - preferably without having to login as each different user (company managers) every time ?

You should be able to tell within Joomla who is publishing what articles when the article is created.  The person needs to be an administrator though.

It's in the parameters section under the author field.  I've attached an image where it's highlighting that area on the create an article page.

Hi nukit,

thanks for the quick answer - that is actually good to know - but I think the screenshot that you posted is from the aticle manager in Joomla..  However, I should have been clearer - I mean specifically posting to the JomSocial forum - which appears to have its own login and publishing interface. I originally tried to go in via the Joomla backend but there does not appear to be a place for publishing to the forum from within Joomla. You can see the JomSocial users, etc - but it doesn't look like you can publish from there.

I know the best place to direct this question is probably jomSocial tech support but I was just hired as webmaster and the previous webmaster is gone with the license details - so at the moment I am unable to request support directly from the JomSocial.

Ah I see...I will check to see if I'm still covered for support with my JomSocial account and ask them if I am.

I have my subscription until October 10th, 2011.  I will ask if this is possible to do.

Ok, so I heard back from JomSocial's forum...Here's what they said...

"You can't post articles in JomSocial, so this is not really a JomSocial issue.  However, in Joomla you can set the author as you like, as well as setting an alias."

Please see attached image of forum thread.

I actually meant post, not article like in Joomla.  But they are using the Forum to post long article-like post or threads.  However I may have something wrong - although the site is using JomSocial it is also using Kunena Forum.  So now I am thinking it is actually the Kunena Forum that is controlling that.  Do you know anything about that plugin?

Joomla is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) for publishing web content. It is built on a model–view–controller web application framework that can be used independently of the CMS. Written in PHP, Joomla uses object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques and software design patterns, stores data in a MySQL, MS SQL or PostgreSQL database, and includes features such as page caching, RSS feeds, printable versions of pages, news flashes, blogs, search, and support for language internationalization.
