It probably means they have more than 1 ip address in DNS for that domain and dns round robin means you may see different ip address when you ping the domain compared to the last time. If you do an nslookup on that domain it should show you all the ip addresses in DNS for the domain.

e.g an nslookup on google.co.uk shows multiple ip's

C:\Users\Martin>nslookup
Default Server:  cache1.service.virginmedia.net
Address:  194.168.4.100

> google.co.uk
Server:  cache1.service.virginmedia.net
Address:  194.168.4.100

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    google.co.uk
Addresses:  209.85.146.104
          209.85.146.106
          209.85.146.103
          209.85.146.147
          209.85.146.105
          209.85.146.99

If you run the lookup again straight away you'll notice a different ip address is at the top of the list, this is because of dns round robin

> google.co.uk
Server:  cache1.service.virginmedia.net
Address:  194.168.4.100

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    google.co.uk
Addresses:  209.85.146.147
          209.85.146.105
          209.85.146.99
          209.85.146.104
          209.85.146.106
          209.85.146.103

so the purpose of DNS Round Robin is to be secure or what

It is for load balancing. So that all request for a service or in this case a web site don't overload one server or group of servers
