exchange cert request

I'm trying to create a cert for my mail servers, but needed to know what names to use.  My companies local network is named
domain.local
and externally we are
domain2.com

so will the common name be
mail.domain.local
and the alts be
autodiscover.domain.com
mail.domain.com
mail2.domain.local
?
I guess I'm really confused by how I secure my second exchange server.  It won't have an external address, and the tutorials I've seen say not to netbios or .local names.
