Act! 2011 Pro database sharing
Dear All,
We've upgraded our 2006 version of Act! To 2011 professional.
I have converted our database and layouts/templates on our SBS2008 Standard Proliant server.
The 2006 database was on a mapped network drive and I can't access the new one from any of the three Win 7 clients on the network. I have read and implemented all KB's from Sage I could find regarding shares on local folders and permissions including firewall exceptions and port settings, but no luck.
The main issue I have noted from the KB's that I can't get around is that I cannot share the database in the TOOLS | MAINTENANCE menu of Act! The option is not able to be selected or ticked.
The error I receive when trying to open the database on the server drive from the clients is that the database cannot be found on be local machine.
I initially thought that maybe it was a hangover from the database conversion, so I created a new one, importing all records but to no avail.
Any guidance in sorting this out would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Paul
