CSR\SSL Cert Question
I have a new webservice with a url that I need to generate a csr for in IIS. However, the server for this hasn't been stood up for this yet.
Question: Does the server where the csr is generated need to be the same place as where the cert is installed? Or put another way, can I generate the csr on one box and expect the cert to install on another
I am assuming it needs to be the same box, but I am more or less double checking. Please note, I am not in any type of an export scenario here. This web serviceis brand new. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

From a server that is setup for ssl or from the server .
My server for the web service isn't stood yet.
\However, if I understand you. You are basically saying I can generate the csr from a server that is already set up for ssl. Get the cert, install it there, and then export it to my web service server. Correct ?

Thanks.
However, after it is imported, you can export the certifcate and import it to other servers.
