Default-first-site-name still appears after I rename it in DNS forward lookup zone
I have an environment with a domain and 3 DCs in production.
All servers run windows 2008 R2.
I changed the default-first-site-name to a more appropriate name from "active directory sites and services" console.
I did that in my primary DC.
I then restarted the server.And then restarted the second DC.And then restarted the third DC.

The thing is that in dns manager in forward lookup zones at "sites"  the "default-first-site-name" is still there.I have two entries.One with "default-first-site-name" and my primary DC is there and one with the "new-site-name" which has the other 2 dcs.

Its been 7 hours since I restarted the servers.No change.When I tested this in a virtual lab with 2 DCs, after 10 minutes everything was OK and both servers belonged to the new site.

Why is this happening?
In  "active directory sites and services" console I didn't create a new site.I just renamed the default-first-site-name.The "default-first-site-name" should have been gone.

Do I have to delete it manually now and move first DC at new-site-name?
What is the safest way to do that?
Should I wait more?

You could demote the problem server then DCPROMO it back onto the domain as a DC, that should force it to pick up the new site name.

Why restarted servers? don´t needed.

Rename it on PDC emulator and wait a few minutes, then close active directory sites and services console and reopen it.

@ImaCircularSaw
This is the primary DC.It's not so simple to do that.
But if I need to do that it means that the problem is bigger than I thought.

@Drashiel
Everything looks fine in directory sites and services console.In dns console I have the problem.

Can you set scavenging of stale DNS records on the server? It may be related to out of date site specific SRV records.

The site SRV records are added for _gc, _kerberos and _ldap resolution. If records still exist under xyz.com/_sites/Default-first-site-name for any servers the site won't be removed.

As adcliff said, there are these records.
I noticed the timestamp in entecarray_1 ( my primary DC which is in default-first-site-name) is old.

I will also set scavenging of stale DNS records and I will leave it to default 7 days.

this should occur automatically without manual interaction

what happens if you force outbound replication from "your primary DC" to the other DCs? (use REPADMIN with /SyncAll)

and in addition what happens if you execute the following on EVERY DC (one line):
NET STOP NETLOGON & NET START NETLOGON
