Exchange 2007 stopped receiving external emails but we can still get replies from external accounts

I seem to be developing a serious issue this morning. It seems our EXCHANGE 2007 cannot receive new emails from external sources. We can still email each other internally and if an external account replies to one of our emails we can receive it but we cannot get new ones. I used my bellsouth account to attempt to email my exchange account and get the following reply;

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

Following you from the previous thread.  Did this problem just begin today?  If so, I'd recommend restarting your Exchange server and whatever firewall device you are using.

yes, just happened today....i have not made any changes to anything reguarding exchange or the firewall in weeks
