We have an office that wants to password protect specific files that could be saved anywhere on the network.
Our first response was to have a folder controlled by AD that only the relevant users have access to, but this is not good enough as the files could be saved anyway in amongst normal files that other people have access to.
So in short I need to offer a solution that allows specific files to be password protected.
This led me to thinking about Winzip (or similar) and just using the encryption option so that the zip file is password projected.
Therefore to view an a file they first have to unzip with the password. But still a bit more cumbersome then one would like. In particular because what they are encrypting is Outlook emails saved to a network drive location. So an Outoook email file. It would be nice if they could just open the file as they would any other Outlook email file and the only extra step is that a password is requested to view that email. That would be exact solution they require although I'm not sure how to achieve it.
Welcome any input on this.
