Wordpress as a CMS

I am an experienced web developer. I have built a number of CMS based web sites doing it "the hard way"; php & MySQL, etc.

I am interested in learning how to use WordPress as a CMS.

Can someone refer me to somethings that will be a guide on how to do this?

According to WordPress, WordPress it is a CMS, and has won a CMS Award.

However, WordPress alone would be boring.  You will need a good theme and usesful plugins, pending on your need.
