Sonic point N set for a/g/n 2.4ghz, WPA2-Personal w/ PSK

Toshiba laptop with a/g/n wifi card, WPA2-Personal, all settings are on auto.
Status bar shows yellow ball and connecting, inside Windows wifi status shows connected, then connection drops. During connected state there is no network access.

I have not updated firmware or drivers on the machine as it is factory new.

The rest of our laptops are Lenovos running N band on 5.2 ghz with no problems.

Under the NIC properties or from manufacturer's website.

take a look at what channel the wireless router is set to, sometimes they choose channel 13 that in use in only specific regions (EMEA + ASIA), and some NICs may only support channels from 1 - 11 (US)

Download inSSIDer from www.metageek.net to see what channels are in use

(BTW: This only goes for 2,4 Ghz - the channels and regions are a bit trickier in 5 Ghz range)

Was set to 5.2 Ghz freq, 2.4 worked like a charm.
