We ran into a header formatting issue in Word 2000. The header's formatting is pushing the main body too low on the page. Is there a way to 'float' the main body content on top of the header content ?

You could put it into an text box anchored in the header and set it to be 'behind text'. If is acceptable to  have some of the header not seen, then the obvious answer is to reduce its size by removing that which won't be seen.

It might help to post an example

This may seem counterintuitive, but I found that using a negative value for the Top Margin (in Page Setup) has fixed this problem for me in the past.

Thank you GrahamSkan. It seems that's all I needed.
Thanks for the input Paul , but it seems the behind text modification worked the best without changing the margins.
