Outlook 2010 crashes when opening/editing shared tasks
Windows 7 environment, running Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2010:
User's boss has shared his task list with her. She can add, delete, and edit tasks in her own task list with no problem. When she goes to add, delete, or edit a task in his tasks though, Outlook closes out. I have checked the event logs and I don't see any entries from Outlook when this happens.
She CAN, however, edit his tasks in-line from the list view by clicking in the desired field and editing.
The only possible fix that I can find is to set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3. When I did this, she couldn't even launch Outlook: not able to load default folders.

Profile that is....
Sounds similar to an issue i had a while ago.
I tried a few things, creating a new mail profile, also tired a re-install of the PC and that didn't work! In the end to fix the issue i deleted the users roaming profile from the server and local machine and got them to log back in.
Since then no more issues.
Hope this works for you.

Thanks, everyone. I'll try recreating her Outlook profile first and see if that fixes the problem. We no longer use roaming profiles since we moved to Windows 7, but I suppose I could try recreating her local profile on the PC too. I'll check back in and keep you posted.

Windows profile and Outlook profile have both been recreated. Problem persists. If anyone else has any more suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!
Have you tried to repair the mailbox?

I'm going to delete & recreate her OST file today, if that's what you're asking.

I have now deleted and recreated the OST file and she still has the same problem. My next step is a complete reimage of the PC, although we were trying to avoid that.

In the research I did, this was the only solution I was able to find.
Please make a backup of the .PST file before doing anything to it :)
