Anyone using Smart Response yet? Feedback?

garycase recommended this MB in the other thread: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131730
and I'm now thinking about using the Smart Response stuff.

Good motherboard, a bit on the large size make sure your case can fit it.. Intel Smart response works as advertised.. but only with SATA-6G SSD's.

Since you're going to use an SSD as your main system drive, you really don't need Smart Response.     Smart Response is a technique that allows a small SSD to act as a "super cache" for traditional hard drives -- it's the logical evolution of the "ReadyBoost" technology introduced in Vista ... but is implemented at a pre-OS level so it works regardless of what OS you install.     Effectively, it turns a standard hard drive into a hybrid drive, with the SSD component in a separate drive.

... but using a full-size SSD as your main drive provides much better performance.
