clutered index is an index type that can exist once in a table. It is used if you have unique data on a column and does not need reorg or rebuild. on the other hand non clustered index are used for other cases and needs reorg or rebuild in time.
Hi,

If there is large amount of selects on a table, create a clustered index on the primary key of the table. Then create non-clustered indexes for all other columns used in selects and searches. Put non-clustered indexes on foreign key/primary key columns that are used in joins.
