We own several companies, and as such we have a single data center used by all of the child companies. If I sell a company and they then purchase their own internal server infrastructure. Can I transfer to them the CALs they have purchased? I ask because they bought over 100 exchange 2010 and 100 Server 2008 R2 user CALs and 50 device CALs for use with our environment, but now those users will be gone. Can they take the CALs with them, or are they forever tied to our servers?<br />

Transfer CALs

Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, based on the Microsoft Vista codebase, is the last 32-bit server operating system released by Microsoft. It has a number of versions, including including Foundation, Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, Web, HPC Server, Itanium and Storage; new features included server core installation and Hyper-V.
