Hi All
        i have ESXI 4.0 server, i would like add a USB Hard disk to the Virtual machine on this ESXI server, how can i do it?

VMDirectPath is only available in 4.1. The only way to do it in a lesser version is to use AnywhereUSB by Digi.....or upgrade. Your host will need to support 'passthrough', though IOMMU (see KB).

if you are using  host xp and guest linux   redhat its not possible to to attach external drive u need for this you must format a drive with a fat32 .

than go on /mnt mount point in from the root.

The typical solution is to use a USB over IP device to connect the USB device to a VM.
