OEM Server Media Kits

networkn used Ask the Experts™
Hi There!

I am trying to find an CD/DVD for 2003 R2 x64 OEM. I had had hoped I could find it on a MS site somewhere. I have the product key and COA, but MS say contact our hardware manafacturer and HP laughed and said they could only get 2008 media now. HP media suitable for running with Smartstart would be the ideal choice.

Any other options available?

You cannot download OEM media. If HP and MS won't assist you then you are going to find it pretty hard to get any media. Do you have any other servers or clients with media you can borrow. As long as you have the correct OEM product keys it should be ok.

Everything I have is 32bit. and I need 64bit.

Maybe try contacting someone else at HP. They must have some old media available some where. They are going to be your best chance I think.

As stated, the manufacturer of the server is the only one who can provide OEM media.

If you have a volume license for server, you should be able to use that license.  Or you could obtain a volume license (not inexpensive, but definitely more flexible).
