How can I uninstall Microsoft Office 2007 crack copy

I tried to install Microsoft 2010 Office Student version over the top of a crack copy of Microsoft Office 2007 but failed to install.
So then I tried to uninstall the crack copy and that also did not work.
I also recall altering the genuine notification file at some point to stop those Not Genuine messages from appearing on the screen.

Can anyone advise how to go about it.?

Uninstall both versions. Run the additional uninstall utilities
http://www.mydigitallife.info/microsoft-office-2007-complete-registry-removal-and-deletion-uninstaller/

Then try to install the 2010 legit one. You know there is no good cracked version of 2010 right? Just extended trials...
you can try this: How to manually uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature

Ian,

Just so we're clear, you are admitting to having installed an unauthorized copy of commercial software, and now you want some help covering your tracks?

Although I do respect wanting to get legal....

Personally, I would backup critical data, format and reinstall with the legal software.... I would say thats about the best we can do to assist under the circumstances....

To "make things clear" I am not admitting to personally installing a pirated copy.
Nor even admitting it is my computer.
If you must know I am visiting Japan and helping a disabled friend to remove
an unauthorised version. He was unable to purchase an English version here
as they are hard to find and expensive if found. He recently had to have one
shipped from Amazon to a US address then forwarded on to Japan.
Microsoft Japan only cater for Japanese versions
Microsoft (other branches) will not ship to Japan
Amazon will not ship to Japan.
Had I known earlier I would have brought one with me..

Now that is "clear" will it help you to offer a solution.?

Did the uninstallers we linked to not do the job?
You can always try a manual uninstall. Delete the program folders and manually remove the registry entries for Office.

I tried to uninstall the .msi files but the message said
"cannot verify patch" etc contact vendor etc
Looks like a disk format job I'd say.
Thanks for your contribution

No worries. It might be safer to format. It just takes a lot more time obviously.

Try using Revo Uninstaller, you can carry out a forced uninstall I'm sure

racepro,

That a piece of software is hard to find and/or expensive is a rationalization, not a defense.  Also, your friend's disability does not excuse him/her from respecting other people's/companies' property rights.

You seem to know more than I do about my friends computer.
For the record I do not even know if A) the computer actually belongs to him
or B) whether he installed that software.
All I know is the computer he uses had a hard disk failure and he had to
have it fixed. Once fixed and rebooted successfully that is when he first noticed
it was not a genuine copy. He took immediate action to purchase a valid copy and that
is where I helped him re the shipping from the States.
You are best advised to refrain from unwarranted assumptions in future.

Thanks for all the assistance
Not sure if installation worked as I
was only on a three day visit to
a friends home in Japan. I guess I'll
find out once back from my trip
