Inserting into Access 2007 Report a symbol from Character map

I am trying to put an arrow in a report.  I tried copy and paste after selecting the character using the map, did not work.  I tried changing the font but then pasting, nothing working.  Can someone please advise what I am doing wrong.  I even tried using the code associated with symbol.  I have inserted in other version of Access, but I am having trouble with 2007.
