Hostname not working in IE9
I have an entry in my hosts file dev.tyler.com that resolves to my local IP. I have used this hostname for a site locally for quite awhile and it has stopped working in IE9. I can still browse to the site using chrome or firefox. If I add a new entry to my hosts file called dev2.tyler.com that site works in IE9. It is just my dev.tyler.com hostname that doesn't.
Can anyone give me some ideas of something to check? When I ping dev.tyler.com it resolves to my local ip as it should. Not sure why this hostname stopped working.
Thank you,
Tyler

Are you launching this from a shortcut to the website on your desktop or using a favourite ?

I have tried using the favorite in my favorites menu as well as typing in the URL. Neither works in IE.
I know this sounds crassly untechnical but you have added the URL to your trusted sites right ?

We know it's not name resolution because you can browse from a third party browser and you can ping. Are we talking about a straight forward PC with W7 , what about your AV , is it giving you browser protection also.

I ran the following utility from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034 and then created a new host file and it seems to be working for the moment.
