Trendmicro have very good options for vmware

McAfee is pretty good.  I've not come across much in the way of AV for VMWare servers (hosts), the guests are treated like anyother OS.

The Best Solution for VMware Servers is VMware vShield Endpoint because the scanning is done "outside" of the VM, and hence you do not suffer broadcast storm events on your datastore with traditional current anti-virus products. But the other vendors will follow suite shortly.

VMware vShield™ Endpoint strengthens security for virtual machines while improving performance for endpoint protection by orders of magnitude. vShield Endpoint offloads antivirus and anti-malware agent processing to a dedicated secure virtual appliance delivered by VMware partners. The solution is designed to leverage existing investments by allowing customers to manage antivirus and anti-malware policies for virtualized environments with the same management interfaces they use to secure physical environments.

Improve consolidation ratios and performance by eliminating anti-virus "storms"
Streamline antivirus and anti-malware deployment and monitoring in VMware environments.
Satisfy compliance and audit requirements through logging of antivirus and anti-malware activities.

As for non-virtual servers and desktops, Trend Micro have an impressive suite, but all our available for evaluation from McAfee, Symantec, Trend, I would check them out against your organizations criteria.

We use Sophos Endpoint Protection and their other AV products. Good support, low footprint products, good node price, consistently do well with VB100 testing, no complaints so far.
