Web Application - Internet Explorer cannot display web page

I'm converting a .Net Web Site to a Web role to host on Microsoft Azure. The first step in the process is to convert the web site into a web application. I've done that but when I try to run it in the VS 2010, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display web page". The web site worked fine.

I've searched the web for others who have had the same issues and have tried the following:
- turned off anti-virus and firewall
- added an entry in the hosts file
- used RegEdit to add keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa - DisableLoopbackCheck and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer - TabXYZProc (I can't remember the exact key)

I recently saw a post saying that IE9 RC may be the culprit and may resolve the issue. That's my next step

I'm running on a Windows 7 virtual pc on Virtual PC 2007 using VS 2010, .NET 4.0, Internet Explorer 9, VS development web server (since I'm debugging)

Any help is greatly appreciated

No, it doesn't. The same thing happens. I am running IE 9. I've also tried it with Firefox 5.0.1...no luck.
I ended up rebuilding the project and that worked.

Many days passed with only one comment and since I wasn't waiting for an answer but continued to work on it...I worked around the issue by recreating the project
