I think that I was hearing mobi but they were actually saying Adobe.

Adobe Connect software.

I still don't know much about this software or why people would want to use it.

Isn't Adobe products usually expensive? (Except for the Free Reader of course)

It is for corporate web conferencing. You pay because you need to guarantee quality of service on the call and need ability to send video to more than one individual. Think webinars, but you can read up on other features and uses if you would like.

Adobe connect is more than just meeting software, it's a flash based lms (learning management system) that tracks users and courses. You can publish material from PowerPoint and add quizzes.

Yeah I've used it to do meetings and host online training classes and be an lms. We started out with hosted and expanded to internal hosted.
