Exporting Dates in Access

I have a date field in a table in the format MON-DD-YYYY hh:mm:ss.  I need the ability to export to a text file and keep the format the same.  Unfortunately, the export function is spitting it out as mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss.  Is there any way to keep it in the defined format.

mattturley,

Have you created an import/export specification?  You can use a specification to, well, specify such things :)

If not, instead of exporting the table, you can create a query, use an expression like this to format the date:

Format([SomeDate], "mmm-dd-yyyy hh:nn:ss")

and export that query.

thanks - I had figured out a similar solution.  I've created a make-table query that uses that exact format to get the data from the table into the new table and am exporting that table.
