Moved Wordpress site -- mail doesn't seem to be working

Hi,
I recently moved a wordpress site from one server to another, keeping the same domain.
The move went well and the blog is functioning normally, for the most part.
The blog is set up to email an alert to an external email address whenever a post is made.
It appears as though the emails are not being sent out.

Can you all give me some pointers as to where I should look for a solution to this problem.
I am running WP on Ubuntu 10.x with Postfix as my MTA.

Thanks,
M

1. How do you send out an alert email in Wordpress?

2. Could you send out an email through command line to your email address?
echo "Test" | mail -s "test" <your email address>
echo "Test" | mail -s "test" <your external email address>    (such as gmail, yahoo mail or hotmail account)

Hi Wesly,

Wordpress has an option to alert admin of posts. It's in the Dashboard.

I tried using a Telnet localhost 25  test and sent mail out of the box to an external address. It worked fine. So I'm thinking that postfix is installed correctly. Someone it's not interfacing with Wordpress though. Any ideas?

Then there should be the setting in Wordpress the smtp server, account you send from and target email address.
Is there is an account for Wordpress to send the email out setup?

> Telnet localhost 25  test
It means the port 25 is listening (usually by a smtp daemon)

> sent mail out of the box to an external address
It means target mail server accept your email and your smtp is running.

It may be an issue with your php.ini.  Sounds like a similar issue to this guy:
