How to get the coredump of the running perl process?

Hi, How to get the coredump of the running perl process? I tried 'kill -8 PID' and 'kill -11 PID' and both does not seems to yield the cordump file. Please let me know how can I generate the coredump of the running perl process. I am using Slackware Linux. Thanks!
