I have physical disk damage on a certain sector of my hard drive that I confirmed from dell diagnostic tools. Every time I install XP it runs through the entire thing, then after final reboot,  says can't find or corrupt system32/config folder or various other errors.

My question is, how can I install the operating syste away from this bad sector? Any tricks to do so?

Thanks

Nope, if it's really a bad sector, it can't be fixed. A "chkdsk /r/f" will mark it as bad so your system doesn't use it anymore, but if your harddisk is getting more and more bad sectors, the drive should be replaced.
