Duplicate Email in MS Outlook 2003 SP3

I just started receiving duplicate emails in MS Outlook 2003 SP3.   I use Outlook as a front-end to my yahoo email.   this problem has never occurred beforew and I have no recollection of making any changes to my PC recently.

I currently have my settings set to NOT save my emails on the yahoo server.

I use Windows 7

I do use AVG and it catches viruses in inbound emails from time to time.  For that reason I dont' want to turn that email scan off.  Not if that is related or not.

Thanks

You're issue is likely to be AVG which is scanning the emails and modifying them. To be honest Yahoo would not deliver a message which is infected. Try uploading a .exe to yourself and you won't be able to download it.

You'll find if you turn off the email scanning plugin, your issue should be solved.

NEtflo... I follow you. Thanks for the feedback.  But it seems to me that my local (PC based) AVG is what is catching the inbound virus' an stripping and quarantining them before they hit my inbox in Outlook.  Why isn't Yahoo catching that on their server BEFORE the email (with the virus) gets into my house ?
According to Yahoo, they do: http://antispam.yahoo.com/virus

Are you sure you're not collecting emails in Outlook for another account, i.e. non Yahoo?
Nope. I only have 1 account and it's a yahoo account. This just started happeneing and I have not installed any new s/w or did any upgrades.
I turned OFF my AVG email scan and the dups still come through
How is Outlook configured to Yahoo? POP3? IMAP?

Have you got any Outlook rules configured?

Could you shutdown AVG completely and reboot before testing again?
1)  Pop3

2)  Lots of rules configured (dozens)

3)  I'll test shutting down AVG and rebotting

For some unknown reason Outlook 2003 (windowns 7)  generated a wide vareity of duplicate rules in my rules list.  I had to manually go in and locate them and delete all of the dups.  Dozens.  Thanks.
Your welcome.
