That usually happens because you are running out of room on the toolbar.

Hello DaveBaldwin,
Sorry what do you mean ?
The name is not long, just 4 or 4 letters

I don't currently have any folders in my Bookmark toolbar and I do have space at the right end and the '>>' pointing items that are not displayed.  But there is still one bookmark that has '...' at the end of it.  I believe that by whatever rules Firefox uses, it puts that there whenever it thinks it will run out of room in the toolbar area.  If your items in that folder fill up the toolbar area, it will abbreviate names like that.  Try putting some of the items that are in that folder in a second folder and see if it still happens when there are fewer items in the folders.

Must be built-in then.  I just added a 'folder' to my bookmarks toolbar.  If I click on it, it drops the list of bookmarks in it.  It does that both from the toolbar and the sidebar and it does not change the spelling of the folder name.  I'm using Firefox 5 on Windows XP.
