How do I search a PST without indexing in Outlook 2010

I have a number of PSTs on CDs. The PSTs are large (100,000 emails on average). I don't want to wait for each one to index. How can we search a PST quickly the old-fashioned way?

Old fashioned way and quick are a bit of contradiction. Nonetheless, open the PST with Outlook and then go to Options -> Search and set for all folders. Now go to Inbox and click on the Search bar (top right of Inbox) and search for what you want. It will likely take a while.

If you want to search outside of Outlook, you need Windows (and so index) or a 3rd party search tool.
