How to edit the reference path?

Using visual studio 2008 on vb projects, is there a way to EDIT the path of a referenced item?  I can see where the reference is pointing, and I need to change the path to point to a new version, but I can't find anywhere to edit the path.  Is there a way?

If so, I need clear, specific guidance on where to go in vs2008 to do so.

Or, if not, does this mean I should delete the current reference that points to the old path, and re-add the reference that points to the new path?  TIA

Remove and Add because the VS calculates a key with the reference and if you change the path, the key may be invalid.
