Dear all,

We have our exchange servers 2010 and we would like to create a new transport rule that states that as soon as an email is sent to a particular distribution email group or individual an automatic email reply is sent to the sender. (Like an out of office reply).

Can you please guide how this can be done?

There are 2 parts to this.

1. Transport rule
2. Outlook rule

Part 1 goes here:
==============
Go to Transport rules.
Click on New Transport rule
When the message is Sent to a member of Distribution list.
Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc) the message to a mailbox (eg:test mailbox).
Click on next till you finish the transport rule creation.

Part 2 goes here:
==============
Now on the Outlook for that mailbox (test mailbox), create a rule to send an automatic response to any mail that it gets with the automatic response and delete the message permanently.
