WMI Error - Windows 2003 Server Std

Hi

Long story short:

Went to upgrade memory in Windows 2003 Server
Accidentally knocked out a HDD power lead
Array needed to be rebuilt
Rebuilt Array, server then failed to start with NTDETECT FAILED
Ran chkdsk /r on hard drive, server now boots

Now on server.

SQL and 2 SQL related applications fail to work (Backup Exec and an accounting program)
Start Menu looks extremely short but I'll worry about that later.

Downloaded latest SQL Server setup with the view of doing an inplace upgrade to repair (currently on 2005)

Fails with:

"Rule "Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service failed"
"The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service cannot be started. To continue with this installation, you must troubleshoot and repair your WMI service"

WMI service IS running.

Any ideas?

ASKER

If I go to the WMI in Services and click on the Dependancies Tab it comes up with an error "WMI: Not Found"
