Hi All,

I need clarification on how to restore deleted object authoritatively. I have deleted the object and I have restore after few hours. what is the process.
I need restart the DC and then select dsrm mode. after that we need to restore ad from backup or just go the command prompt type ntdstuil and connect to the server and type restore object subtree path

please clarify me.

after that you need to restore the system state then you go back and in after that and use ntdsutil to mark the object you restored as authoritative.

In a windows 2008 R2 forest you can also take advantage of the recycle bin which makes things much easier.

Thanks
