Unable to access other mailboxes when offline

Hi

One of my clients is experiencing a strange problem.  They are using Windows 2003 SBS with Exchange Server .  As well as their own mailbox, they access two other mailboxes within Outlook.  When their laptop is not connected to the LAN, they can open the offline copy of their own mailbox but if they try to open either of the others they are unable to do so.  Two other users within the company also access these additional mailboxes and theyr are able to open them when offline.  I have compared settings between the working and non-working environments but both seem to be the same.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure that all the accounts are in cached mode (account properties -> on the first screen should be a check box to enable cached mode).

Hello naomelixes

Thanks for your reply. I have checked this and all accounts are indeed selected as cached mode.

Ok, then:

1. Is any error message displayed?

Is any error message displayed?

2. Has this setup worked before in the users it is not working atm?

Bah, sorry, clicked submit before the post was ready. Anyway:
1) Is there an error message displayed on the screen?
2) Are there errors on the Event Log?
3) Has this setup worked before on these users?
4) Permission-wise, are the users pretty much the same (group membership, Exchange permissions, etc.)?
Hello Naomelixes

This is the error message displayed when either of the other mailboxes:

"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. Network problems are preventing connection to Microsoft Exchange."

It is as if Outlook doesn't think they are configured for offline use, even though this option is definitely selected for all three mailboxes.

There are no errors in the event log.

This user has no problems accessing all three mailboxes when attached to the LAN, and offline access works fine for his own mailbox.

Two other users have a similar setup and can see the additional mailboxes when offline.

Do you think it is worth turning off cached mode for these two mailboxes then re-enabling?

Thanks

Glen

An upgrade to Office 2010 fixed the problem.
