I have tapes that were created by BUE, but they are older tapes that have not been witten to for @ 2 years  How do I read them?

Providing you have a tape drive compatible with those tapes, you should be able to pop the tape in the drive and run a pair of jobs for each tape.

Put the tape in the drive and then on the Devices section of Backup Exec, right-click the tape and choose Inventory - run that job.  Once the inventory job completes, right-click the drive once more and run a Catalogue.  The content of the tape should now be available in the Restore option for you to peruse/restore.

Kudos for the quick and accurate response, never had to go back this far before, so I've never had to recreate a catalogue
Thanks for the compliment.  The only reason I've had to is a change of server with a new install of BE and needing to restore.  I can't say I've ever gone back very far myself!
