Based on what you have said, it is obvious that the connection is pausing / stopping transmission.<br />

Can you provide some insight as to how the connection behaves as a result of this? i.e. window size reset, tcp-reset, etc?? Other than the obvious pause, why does this slow down connections to such an extreme?

I have a nexus 5k with a few servers that are experiencing slow performance. On those servers' 10 gig ethernet ports, the RX PAUSE value is incrementing.<br />

A switch is a device that filters and forwards packets of data between LAN segments. Switches operate at the data link layer or the network layer of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model and therefore support any packet protocol.
