Earlier, I had been running SQL Server 2005. All I was needed only Mgmt Studio to run my queries and Procs. After my DB Server upgrade to 2008 R2. My connection was refused from 2005. I tried installing 2008 R2 Enterprise client on my machine. Installation went successfully ..I selected necessary tools but mgmt studio is not on my machine. Kind of wierd..can somebody help me.

I installed VS.Net 3.5 SP1 and all necesarry service packs to get it running but no luck.

You can install Management Studio from Here:

Then you can go here to check all necessary steps for remoting your server...

When you installed 2008 R2 Ent, on the Feature Selection page, did you definitely select Management Tools - Basic and Management Tools - Complete from the Shared Features section. The entries for Client Tools and connectivity aren't SQL Management Studio.

Also, check the following location as that is where it should be located (C:\Program Files (x86)\ on x64)

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\Ssms.exe

@edlunad: This is the Error I am getting

"To continue, select a feature to install. If all features are already selected, these features are installed. You cannot add additional features."

It says I already have but I do not see it..

Did you check on all your programs folders that start with "Microsoft SQL Server..."

you can try to start it from Start > Run > SSMS and click ok
