VGA Video Extender

Greetings. I am looking for a good, reliable product that will allow me to extend the video of a computer. I need to display informational content to several HDTV's approximately 100 - 200 ft. from the source. I've been looking at the VGA extenders from StarTech which allows extending video over network cabling. I like this idea however, I've been reading mixed reviews on them, not sure if this would be a good product to go with. Hoping someone can provide a product they’ve had good experiences with based on my particular scenario.

Are you set on extending the video signal?
Have you considered a thin client device close to the display and connect that back to your source over the network.

Hi,

Have you considered a digital signal (DVI or HDMI) as oppsoed to Analogue? You'd need a digital source (HDMI video cards are around $30 - $40 for a low end model) and then use HDMI over CAT5/6 extenders. Then at the other end, use an HDMI splitter.

Alternatively consider a more expensive multi output Video card (AMD Eyefinity for example) and run separate images (over separate CAT 5/6 cables) to each TV?

The Sapphire FleX (above) removes the need for Active DisplayPort to DVI adapters.

VGA over cat5 depends on the quality of the device - there are good ones and there are not so good ones.  The VGA signal should be strong to begin with, and if you want a quality image on the other end, stick with the professional grade equipment, such as Atlona, Gefen, and Kramer.

Much appreciated for the suggestions. Most likely going with HDMI connection versus VGA. Didn't consider that option because I was only finding info on VGA extenders. This is why I posted the question.
