how do you reset or change the password for a cisco 1800.

This is the instructions that I've follow but it did not work.

Can you give us a list of what you did, or tell us what happened?  Are you able to get to the console?  Are you able to get to the ROMMON prompt?  Are you able to change the config register?  Those instructions do work, but it's possible to make a mistake and miss a step.

I need to change the console password.  I was able to change the secret password.  The instruction does not tell me how to change the console password.

How is AAA configured?  Are you using a local username or authenticating off a TACACS server?

Can you actually Telnet or SSH to the router?
