Can't get Windows xp to recognize Kodak camera

We have a user who uses a Kodak EasyShare Z1012.  When he first installed it, the Easyshare software kept malfunctioning, so he removed it.  He would plug the usb cable in and it would prompt him asking how he wanted to view the files, and he would choose Windows Explorer, which worked fine.  It recently stopped recognizing the pictures, but we can access them on another pc.  We've reinstalled Easyshare, uninstalled it again, and nothing works.  When you plug in the usb, you here the chime like it sees it, but it never brings it up, and it's not available in Explorer.

Is the "Windows Imaging Service" enabled? With the Easyshare software, it should be recognizing the camera just fine.....

1. Easy way
Did you try "System Restore" to go back to the time that it worked fine ?

2.Normal way
Go to Device Manager, Find the relative Item and uninstall it.
then uninstall easyshare .
Then restart and do the installation from the beginning.

3. Hard way
Do the two first steps of normal way and then install the Drivers for the camera manually not from the setup cd.
This way has helped me a lot to install printers and cameras which malfunctioned !!!
