Hi,
The images were created, cut and ready.  How long would it take an expeirnece front end developer to create the html-1 and then how much more time to add to it to become html-2?  I'm a backend developer and I'm trying to understand the time it takes for the front end developer would be consider reasonable.  Thank you.

These are already HTML files and the code is already in place. Not sure what else you were planning on putting in there.

In all honesty it could take anywhere from 5 minutes to 5 hours. It just depends on a lot of different things. Like:
functionality
Purpose/Goal of the pages
Experience level of the front-end developer
What the original mockup looked like

And that's just a top-level overview.  There could be a lot more we're not even seeing. There are some
experts, like myself, who are available for hiring in scenarios such as this.

maybe 1-2 hours assuming all the links, images & css are ready, just layout and binding all pieces together...
for updating maybe 1-2 hours more...

This is supposedly a med-Sr. front end developer, contractor.  He previiously did a mock shot using photoshop for us.  He then claimed 3 hours for the images work prep for using in html file.  The first html file he claimed 4 hours.  The 2nd one he claimed took 7 hours.  To me, this seems un-reasonable.  Maybe in total 4- 8 hours for a mid-sr developer, max.  Does this sound about right?

Isn't there an export utility from Photoshop to html?  doesn't that come with CSS already?  If not, then he did the CSS and the html.  What would be a reassonable hours to take to comoplete this?  Thanks.

It really depends on how much he had to do. Without full specifications, it's hard for any of us experts to be able to put a specific time on it.  HainKurt quoted 1-2 hours and I quoted 5 minutes to 5 hours. In those files you posted, I really don't see 7 hours worth of work IMHO.

Photoshop does export HTML and CSS, but it's not very pretty at all. If he is really a middle-senior level developer, then I should be seeing a Doctype, semantic HTML, separate css files, better naming conventions, etc.

Thank you for all your input.  You both have made a lot of sense and good points.
