Do you have the Universal Restore option, if you do you can restore to a VM, by selecting the correct storagr drivers on restore.

What was the issue with VMware Converter?

Download VMware vCenter Converter here, you may already have this version 4.3, is the latest other than 5.0 which is in Beta.

Looks like VMware converter only works with Acronis 9.x and earlier?? Not sure.
You might need to convert the .TIB to a Microsoft VM, there are Acronis instructions how to do this here. Once its in a Microsoft VM format you can use convert to get it to your VMware destination.
