Office 2010 install error in W2K3 server

Hello there,

I am trying to install Office 2010 in Application isolation environment in Citrix XenApp server (w2K3 OS) which has already Office 2003. I am getting the following error.

Please advise.

See if you have this error in the event log. If yes, then install 2010 in AIE first and then install 2003. The below article is for 2007. You can give a try on your test machine:

Logged into RDP using mstsc /console, still I am getting the same error. I found the following event in Event Viewer as per the attached screenshot.
Let you know that I have copied office 2010 folder from network share to local drive of the XenApp server.

Are you trying to upgrade or has O2k3 been completely remmoved?

No side by side install along side Office 2003

I uninstalled Office 2003 and tried to install Office 2010, I get the followign message.

have tried looking for that file?

Yes the file exists in W:\Office 2010\ but not in W:\.

I am not sure why is the install looking in root rather than in Office2010 folder.

Ok, so move a copy of the file to the root of W:\ and try the install again.
