Backup Tool or Approach when using SQL Server Express 2005 with BES 5.0.3

We are looking to use the free SQL Server Express 2005 db as the underlying database for our BES 5.0.3 service.

I am looking for tools that allow for scheduled backups to be carried out.

Is there a RIM article on this that I can reference? Or Is there a free (GUI based?) tool available with documentation on how to use?

We do, I'll dig up the article.  If you use SQL Exp you cannot have a mirrored HA setup.
Look at SQL Exp 2008?

Thanks for the above comments offering assistance, Looking forward to receiving it.

Re - your other suggestion Is SQL Express 2008 free to use, does it allow mirrored HA setup?

Look for KB10292.  We backup all of the DBs.

SQL help article:  http://www.sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=27

Scheduled in taskmanager runs SQLCMD following these SQL scripts.  3 jobs - 2 different DBs and one to copy files to another server.

System DBs-
exec expressmaint
   @database      = 'ALL_SYSTEM',
   @optype        = 'DB',
   @backupfldr    = 'E:\BES-SQLbackups',
   @reportfldr    = 'E:\BES-SQLbackups',
   @verify        = 1,
   @dbretainunit  = 'weeks',
   @dbretainval   = 1,
   @rptretainunit = 'weeks',
   @rptretainval  = 1,
   @report        = 1

User DBs:
exec expressmaint
   @database      = 'ALL_USER',
   @optype        = 'DB',
   @backupfldr    = 'E:\BES-SQLbackups',
   @reportfldr    = 'E:\BES-SQLbackups',
   @verify        = 1,
   @dbretainunit  = 'days',
   @dbretainval   = 1,
   @rptretainunit = 'weeks',
   @rptretainval  = 1,
   @report        = 1

Not that they can give you this info but do you have a support contract?

2008 Express cannot do DB mirror either.

I only suggest it to be on the latest but I think the BES install still comes with 2005, not sure what they are willing to support and like most software venders, they do not like to offer much help on SQL even though they are supporting the software that is configuring and using it.

You need the SQL Management tools installed as well.
