Time a host name has had an IP.

Cisco backbone:
MSFT 2008R2 DHCP servers:

Is there a way to determine the length of time a computer/hostname has had the same IP address? I am looking at a year or more of timing data.

This would mean associating the hardware with the IP address.  Unless you have some traffic or some other log that has the hardware's MAC address, you would not be sure it hasn't changed hosts.  And even then, the MAC can change if they swap out the network card.

Dating a MAC address would work great also.
The NIC/MAC have not changed in the machine in question.

Is there a way to do this withing the server or shoud lI talk to my network admins to pull timed logs?

You can see if the server logs (or any application logs) have the MAC/NIC info in them, but you will probably need to talk to the network admins to see if they have the info.
Does DHCP or DNS keep an Archival log anywhere?

Nothing persistent in either case. You'd have to make things up to track it.
