Mail-Enabled Public Folder Auto-Reply Rule not Working

Hi, we have a mail-enabled public folder that has a Folder Assistant rule set up for auto-reply, but it's not working. We're using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.

The rule was created with an account that is Owner in Client Permissions, and has Send As permission (also Full access) in Directory Rights.

In Folder Properties, Administration, Folder Assistant, the From field is blank. The "Sent to" field has the address of the public folder, taken from the GAL. "Sent directly to" and "Copied CC" are checked. "Subject" and "Message Body" are blank. "Reply with" is checked, and a Template was created for the reply mail.

There are no other rules.

When the rule was created, a message popped up, like "This will create a rule" or whatever, and everything looked OK. However when we send to this address there is no auto-reply.

Is the send email arriving in the public folder?

Be aware that the process that monitors folders has around a 15min cycle time. Your message may not be triggered immediately.

Really? OK, well I waited a couple hours but never got anything.

Any idea whether this feature is better / same / worse in E2K7? We're upgrading our servers this month.

I was Exchange admin for 10 years at my previous job, but thankfully we didn't use public folders.
