Verify the Central Admin app pool account (farm account) and teh SQL Service acct has read/write permissions on the folder and share you are backing up to. &nbsp;Also, you should be using a UNC path (\\server\folder) as the target.

The fact that it got to file 97 in the sequence would indicate that you have permissions/etc. &nbsp;This looks like it might be bad hardware. &nbsp;Check the SQL server system log for disk errors/etc. &nbsp;
